70th main tower of Shenjiang Railway's Modaomen Waterway Bridge successfully top
On the early morning of May 11th, good news was announced for the Shenjiang Railway Project of China Railway Construction Bridge Bureau. The controlling project of the project, the 70 # main tower of the Modaomen Waterway main bridge, was successfully topped out, marking a major milestone victory in the project construction and laying a solid foundation for the subsequent bridge installation and the goal of opening the entire line by 2028.
The 11th section of the Shenjiang Railway project, undertaken by China Railway Construction Bridge Bureau, has a total length of 23.72 kilometers and a bridge proportion of 100%. The Modaomen main bridge has a total length of 689.8 meters, a main span of 320 meters, spans a Class I waterway, and is 140 meters high. The main tower is an H-shaped bridge tower, consisting of three tower columns (upper, middle, and lower) and two crossbeams (upper and lower). It adopts the world's first steel truss partially wrapped concrete composite beam cable-stayed bridge structure, which combines the advantages of lightweight steel beams and high stability of concrete.
According to the on-site person in charge Xu Xianhe, the 70 # main tower started construction in March 2024 and lasted for 14 months. During the construction process, it faced many challenges. The navigation level of the Modaomen waterway in the construction area was high, the water flow speed was fast, the ship traffic volume was large, and the working space was limited. The biggest difficulty was the risk control of high-altitude operations, the accuracy control of tower verticality, and the crack prevention and temperature control of large volume concrete. To address this, the project constructed a "three-dimensional safety protection network" and adopted a fully enclosed intelligent tower crane system in the tower column construction, which increased the accuracy and stability of the climbing track, reducing the environmental risk of high-altitude operations by 50%. The safety management regulations for high-altitude operations were strictly implemented, and construction personnel were equipped with complete safety protection equipment and received strict safety training and temperature control. Pre job education to ensure personnel safety, Clear warning signs shall be set up around the construction water area, various lighting devices and collision prevention facilities shall be installed, and timely contact shall be made with the local waterway department to grasp the changes in water level, ensure the safety of passing ships, and achieve "zero accidents" during the construction period.
As one of the demonstration projects for the construction of a strong transportation country in the 14th Five Year Plan period and the core project of the "half-hour economic circle" in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, it has important practical significance for improving the efficiency of transportation in the Greater Bay Area and enhancing regional economic vitality.
