CRCC Bridge Bureau Successfully Completes 10,000-Ton Swivel Bridge

| Updated: 2025-04-21 13:18

Recently, the foundation pouring for the swivel T-shaped frame interchange bridge spanning the Funen Railway Line marked a critical milestone in the Beimo Expressway project, undertaken by China Railway Construction Bridge Engineering Bureau. This achievement paves the way for subsequent pavement construction and signifies phased success in the project’s full connectivity.

The Beimo Expressway section from Wudalianchi to Nenjiang includes an interchange bridge crossing the Funen Railway near Heshan Farm in Nenjiang City. The bridge adopts a (55+55)-meter swivel T-shaped frame structure, rotating 75.8° counterclockwise with a total swivel length of (50+50) meters and a swivel weight of approximately 15,000 tons. The main pier is positioned on the smaller mileage side (east of the railway), enabling a single-span crossing over the Funen Railway.

Construction over the operational railway line posed significant risks to traffic and worker safety, requiring stringent safety protocols. The project team optimized the construction plan through expert reviews and rigorous training for managers and specialized workers. Coordination with railway authorities ensured seamless execution during the swivel and closure phases.

As a key node in the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor, the completed project will reduce logistics costs, shorten travel time between Nenjiang and Wudalianchi by 40%, and link three national agricultural demonstration zones and four border ports to Russia. It will bolster regional economic integration, modern agriculture, forestry reforms, and the development of productive service industries. The project also supports cross-border cooperation, urban-rural development, and poverty alleviation, leaving a profound impact on local livelihoods and national strategies.
