Zelenskyy calls meeting with U.S. envoy 'productive'

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Thursday that he held a "productive meeting" with Keith Kellogg, the U.S. special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, in Kyiv.

"We had a detailed conversation about the battlefield situation, how to return our prisoners of war, and effective security guarantees," he said on social media platform X.

Zelenskyy thanked the United States for its assistance and bipartisan support for Ukraine and expressed readiness to sign "a strong, effective investment and security agreement" with U.S. President Donald Trump.

"We have proposed the fastest and most constructive way to achieve results," Zelenskyy emphasized.

Kellogg, who arrived in Kyiv on Wednesday, met with Zelenskyy earlier in the day.

According to Ukrainian presidential spokesperson Serhii Nikiforov, a joint press conference between Zelenskyy and Kellogg did not take place at the request of the U.S. side.

Also on Thursday, Kellogg met with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha to discuss ways towards "comprehensive, just and lasting peace" in Ukraine.

After the meeting, Sybiha wrote on X that he reaffirmed Ukraine's willingness to achieve peace through strength and briefed Kellogg on Kyiv's vision for the necessary steps.
