# Shenzhen-Jiangmen Railway Project Welcomes a Hundred-Strong Observation Team
On March 19th, as a 100-ton intelligent cantilever bridge-erecting machine was accurately lowered at the intersection of the Shenzhen-Jiangmen (Shenjiang) Railway and Hengsi Line, it marked a groundbreaking breakthrough in the application of intelligent cantilever bridge-erecting machine construction by China Railway Construction Bridge Bureau in Section 11 of the Shenjiang Railway project. In response to this technological application, the Safety and Environmental Protection Department of the Xiamen-Shenzhen Railway Company organized a smart bridge-erecting machine dismantling observation activity, attended by the company's management, leaders from the Jiangmen section command, and over a hundred technical personnel from various sections of the Shenjiang Railway, laying a practical foundation for the large-scale application of intelligent construction technology in high-speed rail projects.
The intelligent cantilever bridge-erecting machine is a new type of bridge construction technology, applied to the construction of a 72m + 135m + 72m continuous beam across Hengsi Line. During construction, the construction unit achieved 8 patented technological innovations, increasing construction efficiency by 20%, reducing material consumption by 15%, and introducing 3 new environmental protection highlights. Compared with traditional processes, its modular design shortened the critical path duration by 60 days and improved overall stability by 30%, setting a benchmark for the application of "new-quality productivity" in the construction field.
"This dismantling process is equivalent to performing digital minimally invasive surgery on the bridge-erecting machine. Each component's dismantling path was precisely planned, akin to a digital dissection of the bridge-erecting machine," revealed Guo Peng, the chief engineer of the project sub-department of the contractor. The project team has established an intelligent equipment full-life-cycle management system, which will provide technical specifications for subsequent construction.
It is understood that there are currently 23 work points along the entire Shenjiang Railway line using intelligent cantilever bridge-erecting machines. As a milestone achievement in intelligent construction within the construction field, the successful application of this technology heralds an accelerated transition of bridge engineering towards digitalization and greening. With the deepening advancement of the national new infrastructure strategy, intelligent cantilever bridge-erecting machines are expected to play a greater role in complex scenarios such as cross-river and cross-sea mega bridges and urban elevated networks. The integration of its modular design philosophy with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies may reshape bridge construction standards, driving China's construction industry to form a full-industry-chain closed loop of "intelligent design - intelligent construction - intelligent operation and maintenance," offering Chinese wisdom solutions for global transportation infrastructure construction.
